At the virtual exercise and things...
 
Well, the blog's experience was fun and a fresh new idea. It was fine,I have enjoyed It, because you can say and write with a freewill, in English, and talk about things you like,music, movies, the own career and things.
About your personal taste and you can learn about the classmate's tastes too, talk about it in blog's comments 

Blog has improved my writing skilling at the computer. A good thing, because you can work with the internet tool, now in these times, that's really something.

Another advantage is when you could work at any time or places,like here or at home, It's a easy way to learn English and you can do it in your own room alone! I can learn here that there are tools to learn English by my own too.

A disvantage could be,like the class time is to late! Is boring to wait at the 18 pm and then go out at 19:30 pm and the sky is dark with a cold breeze.

I think this blog's exercise was very succesfull and pleasant work. I recommend this one to learn whatever language to write or to talk things.    

Arlen Perez, a cinema's student, is sitting beside me, waiting for my interview. Yes, now i am .a journalist... and i doesnt look good.

Arlen Perez was born in Santiago, but he leave to Viña in his early life of one year old. He stay there like 12 years, then he go back to Santaigo. He leave the capital city, after he stay 1 year, again like in his childhood.  This time he go to the south, to Concepciòn city, there Arlen lived two years, then he goes back to Santiago, Until today he lives here.

Lost in his thought, Arlen begun an a engineer career at the USACH. Withouth motivation, and face in a dificult career, he decided to leave it. And decided to take lessons to take the PSU test.

Arlen or "Panki", (as we call him, for his punk style) was motivate by his father's camera in his childhood, used to made takes or funny videos. By then he thought the idea of study the cinema career.

Now a see Arlen smoking one cigarrete  beside me, like my classmate and friend. He specialized into the camera and photography work, and he has a problem sometimes to leave the camera a side and work as director. But well, its his greatest motivation and he`s a great camera man, as friend too.

Stanley Kubrick  was an American Film Director, an awesome film maker. His films were always adaptations of novels or short stories. But his unique cinematography style with his compulssive way to work even the most little detail in all areas (photography, edition, sound, music, direction), gave me a great inspiration to work in cinema. Even looking some pictures of his movies, you can sense a perfect enviroment.

 

This perfeccionist film maker made many movies, like 2001: a Space Oddisey, The Shining, Clockwork Orange or Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb.
Kubrick's films covered a varity of genres, including  love, action ,war, drama, violence, black comedy, horror and science fiction. These make him like a perfect film maker.

He was born in 1928, he was a poor student in the school and then he study a short photography career. He start filmming  shorts documentaries called Day of Fight, Flying Padre (1951) and The Seafearers (1953).

He died in 1999 , in the middle of the Eye Wide Shut movie post production (his son finnish the work). He always work, in a passionate way . I really inspire me, his perfeccionist work and special attention to every films areas. This is a quote from Stanley Kubrick

"I was cameraman, director, editor, assistant editor, sound effects man–you name it, I did it. It was invaluable experience, because being forced to do everything myself I gained a sound and comprehensive grasp of all the technical aspects of filmmaking."

In my family,everybody read books, my mother a compulsive journalist, who read like 4 book each week. My sister, a literature student... And my father, just a good reader.

Well, well I'm not the biggest reader in the world like my family, but I really enjoy to read. Books are awesome, you can learn a lot of them, you can learn to speak, to communicate or have an critical opinion. That's why i choose my personal favourite book, Animal Farm .

This book twist my mind, a metaphor for society, represented in animals. The ideas of revolution, freedom, power and corruption are faithfully worked by pigs, dogs, sheeps, chickens, 

This allegorical novell, written by George Orwell, was publish in 1945. In times of Cold War and soviet union command by Stalin. The novell was a critic to Stalin. But when I read this book, I thought, this is a critic to the actual society by many ways.

These are somes rules, that animals began to use in the beginning of the revolution.

1. Whatever goes upon two legs is an enemy.
2. Whatever goes upon four legs, or has wings, is a friend.
3. No animal shall wear clothes.
4. No animal shall sleep in a bed.
5. No animal shall drink alcohol.
6. No animal shall kill any other animal.
7. All animals are equal.

Now, those seven rules transform into this three rules, after the pig take the command.

     1. No animal shall sleep in a bed with sheets.
     2. No animal shall drink alcohol to excess.
     3. No animal shall kill any other animal without cause.

The Little Chihuahua

Well, i m' not a big fan of photography. It's not like I dont like it, it just I never give it the time to appreciate the photos. I take photos with my own camera, but I dont have any here in the compùter class, so i ll tell the history of how i choose this photo, like my "favourite" picture.

Elliot Erwin took this photo, he is one of the greatest professional photographer i have ever known (maybe its because i dont know many photographer). He probably its the most famous modern photographer in the world, he took many pictures, to famous people like Marilyn Monroe, Nixon and Che Guevara.


Now i present this picture, from NY city. Elliot take this photo in 1945. Streetlevel shot comparing the size of a woman's feet to a sweatered chihuahua. I choose this picture because, its a really funny one, when i went to the Elliot Erwin exposition in the Bellas Artes, I saw many important famous people in those photos, or some conceptual photos, but when I realize about this photo, I really laugh about it. Looking that poor chihuahua, with that funny face beside the big dog.

 It was amazing, because I went to that exposition without a hope. I expect some  radical crazy and conceptual art, but i really understand the Elliot way to make picture and  it was fun.

Howard Beale-

 Well, as a film student, it is difficult to choose afavorite movie, “the only one“, I think in Orange clockwork or Apocalipses nowor anything made by Kubrick or the Coen brothers. With those movies, I ll never choose one, because that, I decided to talk about “Network“Directed by Sidney Lumet in 1976,  the last movie I saw and that surprised me. 

  There are four actors in stage, Faye Dunaway as the crazy mediatic compulsive journalist of the channel. Robert Duvall (maybe the most famous actor here) as the channel chief, always worry about the rating. William Holden as the news serious journalist,  friend of Howard Beale perform by Peter Finch.

A satirical movie about the television media, an acid review about the television environment with Howard Beale like a angry news reporter, who announces his suicide on TV a live to all north america. Later He envolved into the mass media television in a satirical situation.

 

An example of that, is this sequence days after de announces of his suicide. It s hilarious.

Don`t worry it`s far to be the end of the movie. 

I like this movie, because it’s a funny satirical film about greed, money and mass manipulation. A modern review about the Television and his implications, about power and greed, in the corporative power. Yeah it`s really worth to see this movie.

Portable computer, shit its good

I like technology, its easy to use and work. But it can be such an adiction to the people, like some folks who love his iphone or smartphone, that they cant live without it, even cant go to shit in the bathroom alone, just need the smartphone. I have one, but I just use it to mails o phone calls.

Now, my favorite piece of technology its my macbook pro, is new,I got it like 3 month ago. But its great, I can work easily, with edition, convertion, postprodution and write work (like this one). Its really portable, I had never got a portable computer and its really comfortable, I can work in my table work, in my bed and even in the backyard. i can take it to the college, in case of an emergecy or a need in somes works.

I use to work with my mac while I listen music with my headphone. I use it to see films and series, with headphones too.

Now why I m really relief about this new inversement, its because my old computer was a pretty noise one, like an infernal noise from the ventpipe (no sleep at the night). Now that’s pretty quite, the mac barely have a presence in the room. I can sleep a little more.

Jimbo jones

Hello, my name is Martín Salas Pequeño (yeah it has a Ñ), it’s a funny game, once in a English class, my teacher call me “Mister Small Living Room“, that‘s was my nickname like one year in the English class.

Well …back to me, I was born in 1990 the first of August, in Santiago city. I stay here in the same house after these 21 years of life! But that‘s over, in the next year I m‘ going to live in Buenos Aires city, because I want to study there, in the Enerc (Escuela Nacional Experimental de Realización Cinematografica)

I have a father and mother a live, happy but no together, they broke up in 1992. I stay with my mother. I have a sister too, she is 3 years older, and live with her mother (yeah we have different mothers). I‘ve never live with her but we have a special relation we see each other like once at month, and that‘s fine.

About me, well i like to play soccer, and seethe premier ligue. I used to be a bike rider, even I tripthrough part of the south in my bike the last summer. From Puerto Varas to Caburga. It was a good ride.  But now, my bike was steal by some undesirable folks.

Now intend to save money to buy a new bike, looking for a good ride again.

Activity 2: Gogol Bordello

Gogol Bordello some new teathrical crazy folks.

Actually, for me it‘s pretty difficult to talk about a favorite band, There are many favorites bands to me. That‘s why i‘m going to talk about Gogol Bordello, a new band that i have knew in the last months, they have a strange mix of Gypsy russian music with Punk, Gogol Bordello has a powerfull presentation in the stage, like theatrical style and a furious energic in each song.

 I was pleasantly surprised when i listen one of his studio album, “Super Taranta!“, because they talk about his own folcklor on Europe, in his own style (the gypsy one), and his inmigrant status reflected in his main thematic lyrics with the powerfull style of punk , now i only listen this band in the past month.

They had come to the lolapalooza festival, but i couldn‘t go to the concert, because financial problems...
Now my favorite song is “Alcohol“,  it‘s a nice song, and talk about a common friend of all the people (or almost everyones), who alway will be there in good and bad times, the alcohol.
